Update - day 7
Monday 13th July 2015
After a busy week of Kickstarter campaigning and reaching out to bloggers, instructors, associations and federations, media contacts and small businesses owners, we have taken the weekend to look at our first week success and evaluate our approach.
This is the most interesting part of the process - it has been so insightful to see what engages people, what doesn’t, what elements of our campaign catch people’s interest, and explore the unchartered territory of crowdfunding and its relationship with online networks and media.
We’re excited to introduce two new elements into our campaign this week to help incentivise those Kickstarter pledges.
The first, is that we are offering anyone who pledges $25+ this week to Boocla the chance to win a free FitBit Flex, worth $99, regardless of whether the pledge transaction proceeds or not! (With crowdfunding, money only leaves investors accounts if the campaign succeeds in meeting its fundraising goal). One lucky winner will be drawn and announced before the end of the month.
The second is that we are bringing the campaign home. Our first week focused on reaching out across the pond to our American friends, the most active crowdfunders in the world. This week we are focusing on home pride – having received a great deal of exposure here in the Channel Islands for Boocla. We want to build upon our grass roots support as proud Channel Islanders exporting a digital product out into the much wider world.
For this reason, we are offering a bespoke ‘Made in the Channel Islands’ Boocla T-shirt to any Channel Islands-based backers who pledge $25 to back the project.
We’re looking forward to seeing how you wear yours…
Until then, have a great week and happy crowdfunding…!
